Breeding Objectives

  • We have built a farming system that is simple, low cost & efficient. The aim is to breed cattle that suit that system and as a result allow the herd to be profitable.

  • We aim to breed genuine, robust cattle that are a pleasure to manage on a day to day basis requiring minimal intervention.

  • Focus on the mob - no superstars. Building a highly effective mob is the best route to a profitable business, rather than overfocusing on individuals.

  • Balance!

  • Focus on traits that reduce cost - mothering ability, fertility, fleshing ability, ease of calving, maternal efficiency & longevity.

  • Produce a valuable and in demand finished carcass, time and time again, hassle free.
